Exhibited during the Batiked!: The Art of Indonesian Textiles show in 2019 at Lone Star College-North Harris, Lone Star College-Kingwood, and Lone Star College-Montgomery, A Day with Ismoyo and Nia is the result of a two-month residency by artist Mari Omori in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, in 2018. Her residency explored the collaborative process of batik, an ancient technique of wax-resistant dye design on cloth, shown in this video.
